Cub Scouts in Vermont are gearing up for another season. The scouts have been doing more outdoor activities.

They are learning about nature, local government, and even the pandemic.

Enrollment numbers have been lower than usual this year. With kids back at school and families looking for activities for them to participate in, they say only nine new scouts have enrolled.

NewsChannel 13's NBC affiliate in Burlington spoke with a Cub Master in Colchester.

"I've even had some scouts who may have left a couple of years ago returning. So it's exciting to see scouts come back,” said Jeremy Watarz of Colchester.

"We reach out to families, not just leaders, to say if you have any ideas please share them,” he added.
