Vermont is using a tree-cutting helicopter for a railroad safety project.

A helicopter carries a dangling bar with ten spinning saws and carefully cuts back the limbs along the rail bed to give it a wide berth for passenger and freight trains. The results of the trim should last for several years, and the work should wrap up in a few days.
