With less than two weeks until Election Day, Vermont has already seen about half the number of votes cast as it did in the last presidential election.
Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos said out of the 450,000 ballots sent out, just over 159,000 have been returned so far. That is roughly half of the 320,000 Vermonters who voted in 2016.
NewsChannel 13’s NBC affiliate in Burlington spoke with some voters in Williston.
"I would say it has a lot to do with the way COVID has been handled or not been handled,” Ron Paquette said.
"COVID is just part of the whole big picture. It's more about what you're looking for after COVID, you know?” Nancy Brogna added.
Vermonters who are choosing to vote by mail are urged to send their ballots back by this Saturday. Of course, you can still vote in person on Election Day.
