Dog dies in Pittsfield fire

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - A dog is dead after an early morning fire in Pittsfield.

The fire broke out at a home on Francis Avenue just before 4:30 Wednesday morning.


Police say two people and two dogs were home at the time.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

There's lots of damage on the first floor.

Firefighters were able to save one of the dogs.

The Red Cross is helping the homeowners.

There is no word yet on what started the fire.
