GREAT BARRINGTON -- At least 1,000 people packed the town hall lawn in Great Barrington for a Black Lives Matter protest.

Peaceful demonstrators spilled over onto the sidewalks up and down Main Street.

Some people got down on one knee in the road in silence, for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, the amount of time a police officer pressed his knee on George Floyd’s neck.

Demonstrators told NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle they had never seen so many people at a protest in Berkshire County.
