PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The future is bright for Ladorya Green for one reason only, she now has a car.

It's a 2005 Subaru Outback, with about 190,000 miles on it. However, to the Pittsfield woman, it's like having a brand new car.

The car is from Good News Garage, a non-profit that takes used, donated vehicles, repairs them and gets them to people like Green - who has a disability, behind the wheel and on to a better life.

Without a car, she walked, took the bus, or asked friends for a ride. Even getting to the grocery store was tough.

Before Green could get her car, she faced a big challenge, she had to learn how to drive.

She did learn, and got the vehicle four days before Christmas.

Because they now had wheels, she says she and her 11-year-old child drove beyond the boundaries of Pittsfield and celebrated.

Learn where they took their first trip, by watching the video of Elaine Houston's story.
