PITTSFIELD, Mass. - A time-honored tradition for more than 100 years in Pittsfield is cancelled for this year.

The Pittsfield Parade Committee announced on its website it is "sad to announce the cancellation of the Fourth of July parade due to the coronavirus pandemic."

The parade committee president says it wouldn't be prudent to have a gathering the size of the parade under the current conditions.

Thousands come out for the parade every year.
