A North Adams city council member has resigned after comments he made about Black Lives Matter while speaking on his local television show “Let’s Talk About It.”

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle report Robert Moulton Jr. referred to Black Lives Matter as a “terrorist organization” that has "hijacked the term 'racism.'"

Moulton also claimed that the United States made a "huge, huge" mistake by imposing a lockdown to stop the spread of the virus.

He was elected to the School Committee in 2019 and served six years on the City Council.

He resigned from both on Monday.
