Pittsfield police continue to investigate after a man was shot and killed Tuesday night.
They say 34-year-old Edward Jennings shot and killed 39-year-old Lemond Grady in the area of 631 North Street.
Officers arrived at the scene just after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, after getting multiple 911 calls and receiving an alert from their gunshot detection system.
Police immediately started searching for Jennings, who had fled the scene. Emergency crews transported the victim, Lemond Grady, to Berkshire Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
A short time later, officers arrested Jennings on Lincoln Street.
NewsChannel 13 called Pittsfield police early Wednesday, and at this point, they are not releasing a possible motive.
Jennings has been charged with first degree murder, and he is expected to be arraigned in court Wednesday morning.
