Rep. Richard Neal defeated Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse in the Massachusetts 1st Congressional District primary after receiving nearly 60% of the vote.

Neal has been in Congress since 1989.

Morse was the youngest mayor to be elected in Holyoke at the age of 22 in 2011.

There are no Republican candidates in the general election. Frederick Mayock, who ran against Neal in 2016, has filed to run as an Independent. They will go against each other in November.
