Major vaccination testing sites start opening across New York Wednesday. Five state-run sites are opening up, including one in the Capital Region.
One site will open at the Javits Center in New York City, another will open in Westchester County and a third at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. They all open at 8:00 a.m., and appointments are required.
A vaccination site at Jones Beach on Long Island opens Thursday, and on Friday, a big vaccination site will open at UAlbany.
Some appointments could take up to 14 weeks because of the state’s limited supply of doses. The governor’s office says they are getting about 300, 0000 doses a week.
On Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo announced that anyone over the age of 65 could make an appointment to get the COVID-19 vaccine, if they can get through to make an appointment.
