Albany County Executive Dan McCoy reported another uptick in new coronavirus cases on Thursday.
County Executive McCoy reported 100 new positive cases between Wednesday and Thursday morning. Of the new cases, 84 do not have a clear source of infection at this time.
County health officials also reported one new coronavirus-related death on Thursday. County Executive McCoy says a man in his 80s passed away. The death toll in the county now stands at 151.
There are currently 2,714 people under mandatory quarantine. That is up from 2,452 on Wednesday.
Currently, 41 people remain in the hospital. Ten of those people are in the ICU.
During his briefing Thursday, McCoy reminded people to use caution this Thanksgiving.
“We don’t want anyone to get sick and maybe die from this virus because you spread it during your Thanksgiving dinner,” McCoy said.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple also asked people to follow the guidelines this Thanksgiving to help keep others safe.
