COHOES - It was a busy Tuesday morning in Cohoes, as employees with Ballston Spa National Bank handed out food to those in need during a drive-thru food pantry event.

This is the eleventh time the bank has partnered with the Regional Food Bank to provide food to those in need during the pandemic.
Ballston Spa National Bank volunteers actually began packing cars with food about 30 minutes earlier than expected, as cars were already lined up around the block.

The company had 18,000 pounds of food to hand out, which included some essentials like eggs, vegetables, and proteins.

For each of these events, Ballston Spa National Bank donates $5,000 to the Regional Food Bank, in addition to matching community donations up to $5,000. Since the start of the pandemic, they've helped feed more than 9,000 people and they say their numbers haven't been declining.

Because the demand has been so high, Ballston Spa National Bank says they plan to continue their partnership with the Regional Food Bank and continue to host these food distribution events through at least June.
