AMSTERDAM -- As the Mohawk Valley moves through the reopening process, there is a new initiative to get people to shop local.

City officials are calling it “Buy it Montgomery.”

It is an effort that will promote local businesses that have faced unprecedented economic hardship because of the pandemic, county leaders said.

Montgomery County Executive Matthew Ossenfort and the city of Amsterdam will unveil the new “Buy it Montgomery” logo and discuss the campaign at the Chatter Box Boutique in Amsterdam at 10 a.m.
