Capital Region hospital leaders update plan to vaccinate 1 million people

ALBANY - Leaders of local hospitals gathered in Albany Tuesday to talk about COVID-19 and distribution of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

They stressed the importance of wearing masks and safe social distancing over the holidays.

They urged people not to delay necessary medical care.

They hope everyone will receive the vaccination when it becomes available over the next six months.

Due to the dramatic increase in admissions, hospitals in the region have agreed to reduce non-urgent surgical cases requiring extended stays.
