Capital Region malls reopen for the first time since March

Capital Region malls can reopen Friday after being shut down for months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Malls can only open in regions that have entered Phase 4. This includes the Capital Region.

In order to reopen, malls need to have an enhanced HVAC filtration system, and they must follow proper ventilation protocols.

HVAC systems will be required to include filters that filter out the virus.

The ventilation protocols include increased outdoor air, reduced air circulation, longer system run times, and frequent filter checks.

Crossgates is set to reopen Friday. Colonie Center is set to reopen Saturday. The mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aviation Mall - Queensbury, NY

Reopening Date: Friday, July 10 

Viaport Rotterdam - Rotterdam, NY

Reopening Date: Saturday, July 11

Wilton Mall - Saratoga Springs, NY

Reopening Date: Friday, July 10

Colonie Center - Colonie, NY

Reopening Date: Saturday, July 11
