We know the pandemic caused many couples to postpone their weddings once venues closed down, but when things re-opened, some DJs were still unable to accommodate clients. However, one local DJ managed to keep the celebrations going by changing her style.

Caroline Kurkowski developed a love of music at a young age. Her first concert was "Kool and the Gang" at age 10. After that, celebrating good times just became part of her life.

However, she would eventually turn the music down and turn up her love for teaching, especially for those with special needs.

Six years ago, she couldn't fight that feeling of wanting to return to music
and help people celebrate one of the biggest moments of their lives. So she  started Upbeat Occasions and became a DJ.

When the pandemic hit, she had to re-evaluate things.

Instead of shutting down, she began working on a plan. When venues opened back up even partially, she was ready.

Learn more about what she did by watching the video of Elaine Houston's story.
