The Centers for Disease Control is considering shortening the length of quarantine for those exposed to coronavirus.

The current guidance recommends people to quarantine for two weeks after being exposed to infected individuals.

That is the length of time that scientists believe the virus can incubate in the body.

The possible update will likely incorporate testing.

In a statement to NBC News, the CDC said:

"CDC is always reviewing its guidance and recommendations in the light of new understandings of the virus that causes COVID-19, and will announce such changes when appropriate."
