Columbia County traces 15 new COVID-19 cases to golf events

Health officials in Columbia County say two golf outings fueled a widespread COVID outbreak.

The county is monitoring 15 cases, which came from outings in other counties on July 10, July 11, and July 24.

Health officials say the outbreak has affected four retail outlets and two private daycares in the county.

They add most of the golfers did not wear masks or practice social distancing.

The county says most of its 102 mandatory quarantines are connected to the golf.
