Gov. Cuomo announced Thursday that New York state recorded the lowest hospitalizations since the end of November.

Gov. Cuomo spoke in Long Island on Thursday.

He also says New York has the lowest infection rate since November 5.

The governor says we are back to where we were before the holiday surge, but he says we still have work to do. Across the state, there is a dramatic difference in case numbers by region.

For instance, the positivity rate in Western New York is 4.30%, but here in the Capital Region, the positivity rate is 2.06%.

There are 3,567 people are hospitalized statewide. That's the lowest rate since November 29.

The 7-day statewide positivity average is at 2.06%.

However, the governor says there were still another 45 COVID deaths, which he says proves the fight isn't over yet.

Hear him explain why we still have to stay diligent by watching the video of Emily Burkhard's story.
