Gov. Cuomo said Friday that statewide, New York still has one of the lowest infection rates, currently the third lowest in the nation.
He said more than 146,000 tests were performed Thursday. Just over 1.5% came back positive.
More than 1,000 people are hospitalized.
In the Capital Region, the positivity rate dropped from 1.3% on Wednesday to 1.1% on Thursday.
In the Mohawk Valley, the positivity rate dropped from 0.7% on Wednesday to 0.5% on Thursday.
Unfortunately, another 12 people died. While Gov. Cuomo's office reported none of them were from the Capital Region or Mohawk Valley.
