Coronavirus cases in New York are spiking as the delta variant spreads, but it's not sending as many people to the hospital.

Twenty more people were hospitalized across the state, according to numbers released on Thursday.

No new patient was admitted to the ICU.

Meanwhile, another 2,567 people tested positive.

The 7-day average for new cases is 2.17%.

The Capital Region's infection rate is higher. The 7-day average here is 3.14%.

Health experts have said many of the new cases are among non-vaccinated.

As of Thursday morning, 56.8% of all eligible New Yorkers are now fully vaccinated. More than 11,000 people got their first shot on Wednesday.

In the Capital Region, the number increased by 1,030 people.
