There's a warning from police in Massachusetts about scams surrounding the new buddy system for vaccinations.

The scam involves ads targeting the elderly that say someone will take them to their vaccine appointment.

Massachusetts started this buddy system last week. It allows anyone taking someone 75 years old and older to a vaccine appointment to also get the shot themselves.

Police say this is really only for close circles of friends and family.

If someone you don't know calls, emails, or approaches you about the program, say no.

Police say criminals could steal your financial and personal information
the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office has also set up a reporting system.
