Gov. Cuomo issues drastic warning about hospitalizations in NY state

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says at the rate hospitalizations are going up in New York state, thousands more will be hospitalized in the coming weeks.

He says New York state saw a 122% increase in hospitalizations from three weeks ago.

There were currently 2,724 people hospitalized as of Monday morning.

The state’s coronavirus infection rate is 3.08%, which is still one of the lowest in the nation. Of 191,489 tests on Sunday, 5,906 were positive.

In the Capital Region, the positivity rate stayed flat at 2.0% Saturday and Sunday.

In the Mohawk Valley, the positivity rate rose from 2.1% Saturday to 2.5% Sunday.

Unfortunately, another 33 deaths people died. None of the reported deaths were in the Capital Region or Mohawk Valley.

Gov. Cuomo says we need to be more aware of our surroundings as we head into the holiday season.
