Gillibrand, Tonko in Albany to push federal disaster relief for local governments

ALBANY - Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Paul Tonko are classifying the pandemic as a "disaster." They believe local governments who are struggling should receive federal disaster relief.

That relief aid would help pay for essential services and revenues lost to coronavirus.


Here in the Capital Region, many businesses have seen their funds slashed.

National unemployment sits at 10.2% right now. That's millions of Americans out of work, with still no congressional relief bill.
