New coronavirus cases confirmed in several Capital Region schools

Schools in the Capital Region are confirming new cases of coronavirus.

QUEENSBURY

Queensbury High School is transitioning to remote learning starting October 2 after another positive case of coronavirus was confirmed at the school. In-person classes are set to resume Oct. 5. K-8 students will continue to follow their normal schedule.

HADLEY-LUZERNE

The Hadley-Luzerne Central School District says someone in the high school has tested positive for coronavirus.

The person has not been in the building for several days.

Contact tracing is underway. School remains open.

HUDSON FALLS

The Hudson Falls School District says a student at the Kindergarten Center on Clark Street has tested positive for coronavirus. The school district was dismissing early on Thursday, and all buildings are being shifted to remote learning for five days. Contract tracing is underway.

EAST GREENBUSH

A student at Goff Middle School in East Greenbush has tested positive for coronavirus. The student has not been in school since September 21.

The district says anyone in contact with the student has already been advised to quarantine.

GUILDERLAND

There's also a confirmed case of coronavirus connected to Guilderland High School.

The district says anyone directed to self-quarantine will switch to remote learning until the quarantine has ended.

ALBANY

The Albany School District says someone from Pine Hills Elementary has tested positive.

The person is connected to the Pre-K program and was last in school September 25.

Students from those classrooms are temporarily switching to virtual learning. Staff connected to the classrooms are in quarantine.
