Normally this time of year, students are thinking about the senior prom and graduation. However, the coronavirus has put a big question mark on those special rites of passage.

Through it all, Granville High School senior Payton Barlow has tried to keep her classmates' spirits high in this time of coronavirus.

However, right now she's feeling some angst.

She's worried about the possibility that she may not be able to enjoy all those important rites of passage because the threat of coronavirus has forced her school to close its doors.

She knows many of her classmates are feeling the same way, so to keep spirits high, Payton has been doing a modified version of the morning announcements from home, and adds her own flare - especially with the birthday announcements.

The date of the school prom has come and gone, but Payton is still holding out hope, and wanting to make a splash at the event.

As the days go by, she and her classmates are coming up with alternative ideas – like a possible graduation ride around.
In the meantime, she'll continue to do her part.

See her in action on the morning announcements, by watching the video of Elaine Houston's story.
