University at Albany says coronavirus vaccinations may have to be mandatory if not enough students get the shots.

The decision would be made at the state level.

The university says they plan to resume in-person instruction as the primary mode of education in the fall.

Classes will start on August 23.

While not currently mandated, the school encourages all students and staff to get the vaccine.

They say if a sufficient percentage of students aren't vaccinated prior to classes beginning, vaccination may become mandatory.

Mask wearing will be required.
