A teacher at Queensbury Elementary School is suspended for being unvaccinated and refusing to get weekly COVID-19 tests.

Joe Traina put a message on Facebook saying he believes he needs to take a stand. He says he’s had COVID and thinks his body’s natural immune system is doing its job.

So starting Thursday, he’s on indefinite unpaid leave.

The school says it’s following guidelines from the state Department of Health. Any school that violates the testing order could be fined $1,000 every day it’s not in compliance.
