ALBANY- More help is on the way for people in the Capital Region, this time in the form of 18,000 pounds of produce.
Redeemer Church in Albany is partnering with Compassion Coalition in Utica and Baldor Specialty Foods to package and distribute fresh produce throughout Albany.
Volunteers will gather, at a safe social distance, at Redeemer Church to organize, package and deliver to those in need.
Redeemer Church says that in about 60% to 90% of students in Albany schools are in need of meals.
Families in need can pick up pre-packaged bags of produce from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at any of the following locations:
