SARATOGA SPRINGS and BALLSTON SPA - It's a little slower than usual inside T-shirt Graphics these days. Blame the pandemic for that.
So when Saratoga Springs Senior Casey Navin had an idea to unite the region's Class of 2020, owner Dennis Albright loved it.
"I feel bad for the seniors," said Albright outside his Grove St. business. "They're all getting robbed."
Robbed of proms, games, and graduations.
Albright's own daughter is missing her college graduation from the University at Buffalo, so he can relate to what Navin wants to accomplish.
"Whether that be a senior in college or a senior in high school, it's kind of a way for all of us to represent our hard work and kind of come together in this hard time," said Navin, who plans to attend the University at Albany.
He and his Saratoga Springs classmates say it's hard not being together for the milestones.
"Oddly enough, it's kind of brought us together as much as it's forced us to be apart. "
He's hoping rainbow tie-dye shirts he designed can further unite the "518 Class of 2020".
"I think it's like something kind of fun for a time that's obviously not fun to have signs and shirts that unite everyone and let us know that we're all in it together," said Maddy Duchaussee, a senior attending Northeastern later this year.
Older sister Gabby Duchaussee is missing her graduation from City of College of New York, and likes the idea of a shirt to raise money for the Red Cross while uniting those missing out.
"Whether we're going to college all over the country, or we're going to high school all over the Capital District, it's going to be cool to have that common bond with them. "
The shirts are on-sale online now and begin shipping later this week.
