Schenectady cancels holiday parade amid pandemic

The pandemic just dealt another blow to a Capital Region holiday tradition. Schenectady will not be holding its annual holiday parade this year.

Mayor Gary McCarthy told the Daily Gazette the city does not see a way to scale it back and still maintain proper social distancing.

The annual parade has been called the largest evening holiday parade in the Northeast.
