Stuyvesant Plaza is donating $100,000 in plaza gift cards to help UAlbany students.

The plaza says the gift cards will help students purchase basic need items, along with health and wellness services, and professional clothing for job interviews. It will also help support its tenants.

The gift cards are estimated to be between $25 and $100. They will go to students in high-need areas, and students who have taken a leadership role in the university's pandemic response. Some may get more than one.

Gift cards will also go to Purple Threads Dry Cleaning, and UAlbany's Child and Family Therapy Clinic.

The plaza previously bought $10,000 in restaurant gift cards and donated them to healthcare workers. They also gave weeks of free rent to its tenants back in March.
