Summer sleepaway camps in the Adirondacks and Hudson Valley are urging the state to allow them to reopen.
Local camps like Camp Chingachgook on the eastern shore of Lake George say they can reopen safely.

This past summer marked the first time since 1932 that kids didn't spend weeks there at a time.

Jiné Andreozzi, Director of Operations, says they've capped registration at 50%, they'll have fewer campers per cabin, stagger meal times, and make groups smaller.

Hear why she says it's more important than ever for kids to go to summer camps by watching the video of Mark Mulholland's story.
