LOUDONVILLE - New Yorkers 16 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Hundreds of students at Siena College were rolling up their sleeves on Tuesday.

The vaccines were going like clockwork when NewsChannel 13 stopped by.

When Siena College opened up appointments for this vaccine clinic last week, it only took a couple of hours for 500 students to sign up.

While Siena is not requiring students to get vaccinated at this point, they are strongly encouraging it.

Siena College President Chris Gibson says the school is well on its way to meeting their goal of having at least 70% of in-person students vaccinated.

Meeting the goal means a rollback of some COVID restrictions, and a return to more sense of normalcy. It's something many Siena saints have been craving.

Hear from a couple of them by watching the video of Sam Hesler's story.
