Vermont plans to delay opening of schools

Gov. Cuomo said he would announce next week if and when public schools in New York can reopen.

In Vermont. Gov. Phil Scott said he is going to delay the start of the first day of school until September 8. Public schools in Vermont had planned to start classes in mid- August.

In Massachusetts, the plan is to let schools delay the start of classes for up to 10 days so they can develop guidelines to keep students and staff safe from the coronavirus. Classes in Massachusetts must start no later than September 16.
