UPDATE: NewsChannel 13’s Jacquie Slater was finally contacted the day after this story originally aired.

Coronavirus cases are surging in Saratoga County.

As NewsChannel 13 reported on Tuesday, contact tracing is being prioritized, but some people with positive tests still aren’t being contacted.

That includes NewsChannel 13’s Jacquie Slater, who tested positive for the virus last week.

Guidelines earlier this year required 30 contact tracers per 100,000 residents. Right now, the county only has 23, in addition to department staff.

Since November 24, Saratoga County’s active cases jumped from 372 to 854. That’s a 145% increase in just two weeks.
