COXSACKIE - There's a surprise coming in the mail for home and business owners in the village of Coxsackie. All their quarterly water and sewer bills have been paid in full. Every single one.

Village officials say the village board approved the one time bill forgiveness as a way to help people out during the pandemic.

This is for the last three months, March 31 through the month of June.

While the village doesn't have an exact figure for how much this all costs, Coxsackie Mayor Mark Evans estimates it's in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Hear more about what led to the decision and how the village is able to forgive all that money by watching the video of Jacquie Slater's story.
