NY to target zip codes with lowest vaccination rates

Gov. Cuomo announced a push Monday to target 117 New York State zip codes with the lowest vaccination rates.

Most of the zip codes are in New York City, but four Capital Region zip codes are on the list: 12058, 12083, 12158, and 12815.

Gov. Cuomo says 72% of new COVID positive cases in New York State are linked to the delta variant. However, he also adds 75% of adults in the state have been vaccinated.

Only 0.15% of New Yorkers have had a breakthrough infection.

The current COVID positivity rate in New York state is 2.28%, marking the first time in months it's above 2%.

The 7-day average statewide is 1.88%.

The 7-day average in the Capital Region is now 2.47%, up from 2.44% on Sunday.

The 7-day average in the Mohawk Valley is now 1.24%, up from 1.11% on Sunday.

Sadly, another four people died.
