Canajoharie contractor accused of inflating prices

A contractor from Canajoharie is accused of falsifying documents to inflate prices.

Jeffrey J. Belrose Sr., 57, is owner of J’S and Sons Construction. Belrose allegedly took insurance money from a local resident after falsifying documents to increase the prices, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Belrose was charged with grand larceny. He was arraigned in Palatine Town Court and set to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $10,000 bail bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
