Colonie student spelling her way to V-I-C-T-O-R-Y
Krrisha Agrawal, 10, is a fifh grader at Woodland Hill Montessori in North Greenbush.She won a regional spelling bee in March and is now competing against more than 240 students from across the country.
A student from Colonie is taking part in the National Spelling Bee.
Krrisha Agrawal, 10, is a fifth grader at Woodland Hill Montessori in North Greenbush.
She won a regional spelling bee in March and is now competing against more than 240 students from across the country.
In round one on Tuesday, she correctly spelled “carcajou,” which is another term for wolverine. In round two, she correctly defined the word – “luau.”
Her classmates hosted watch parties to cheer her on.
The finals will take place on Thursday night in Washington, D.C.
This is the 100th anniversary of the National Spelling Bee. The first ever took place back in 1925, with just nine participants.
