Hiker dies after falling on Kaaterskill Falls trail

A 70-year-old hiker from Illinois died on Friday after falling in the Kaaterskill Wild Forest on Friday.

Forest rangers received a call around 6:45 p.m. reporting an injured hiker. They found the hiker with serious injuries. First responders provided medical care and removed the hiker from the trailhead.

The hiker was pronounced dead at the scene.
