Investigators say large structure fire in Gloversville overnight was accidental

7 people displaced after structure fire in Gloversville

The Gloversville Fire Department said they responded to a large structure fire on 14 Windsor Drive early Saturday morning, which the cause was deemed accidental.

Fire crews said they were dispatched to the fire around 2:33 a.m. and were at the scene for about three hours.

Officials said upon arrival, there was heavy fire on the exterior of the attached garage that had made its way into the common attic space above the garage and house.

The fire department said three adults and four children were inside the home at the time of the fire, and thankfully, were alerted to the fire by a neighbor who was getting ready for work.

All occupants of the home made it out safely.

The roof of the structure was heavily damaged by the fire, and the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage, said officials.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was deemed accidental, according to investigators with the Gloversville Fire Department.

Gloversville Fire said they were assisted by Johnstown Fire, Gloversville Police, Fulton County Emergency Management, Lake Valley EMS, and National Grid.
