Saratoga, Shen hockey players to raise money for cancer
Area hockey players will wear pink jerseys when Shen takes on Saratoga Springs.
Area high school hockey players are going to stick it to cancer next week.
The rivalry game next week between Saratoga Springs and Shenendehowa will have extra meaning.
The Saratoga team will host Shen at Weibel Ave Rink on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The teams will be wearing pink jerseys to raise awareness of cancer and cancer-related causes.
Off the ice, there will be raffles of baskets and gift cards in between periods.
Organizers will be selling wrist bands, and the cost of admission will be donated to charity.
Proceeds will benefit Kelly’s Angels, the local charity that helps children who’ve lost a parent to cancer.
