Schenectady man indicted in April stabbing

A 23-year-old Schenectady man was formally indicted in connection with a stabbing in April.
Jose Martinez is accused of stabbing a 16-year-old male in the back on April 8 just before 3 p.m. It happened in the area of Central Avenue and Quail Street, investigators said. The victim was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center.
Martinez was caught in the area of Eagle Street and Elm Street.
Martinez was arraigned in Albany County Court on charges of attempted murder, attempted assault with intention to cause serious injury, assault with intention to cause physical injury with a weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon.
