Hundreds of spots remain at vaccine clinics in Columbia, Rensselaer counties

Despite expanded vaccine eligibility, several counties in the Capital Region still have open spots for their COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week.

This includes Rensselaer County, where they have a vaccine clinic happening at Hudson Valley Community College each day until Saturday.

Thursday and Saturday's clinics are now booked up, but there are still about 250 spots open at HVCC on Friday. Those appointment times are scattered throughout the day.

It is important to note, the clinic is for eligible county residents, and they will be giving out the Moderna vaccine. This means you will only be able to attend if you are 18 years old and older. Children who are 16 or 17 years old will not be able to attend the clinic.

Rensselaer County says it gets an allotment of vaccines each week, so they’ll be advising with any updates on the Pfizer vaccine next week. You can find the latest information on their Facebook page.

Columbia County is experiencing a similar problem. They currently have about 260 spots left for their Moderna vaccine clinic at Columbia Greene Community College on Saturday. You will need to be 18 years or older to attend, and only eligible county residents or people who work in the county can sign up right now.
