Gov. Cuomo says summer day camps can open across New York State on June 29. However, he has not made a decision on sleep-away camps yet.

It comes as the Capital Region is on track to enter Phase 2 on Wednesday.

Gov. Cuomo says the number of new coronavirus hospitalizations is at an all-time low in New York state – with 154 people across the state entering the hospital over a one-day period. At the peak, there were well over 3,000 people entering the hospital in a one-day period.

While the number of deaths in a 24-hour period ticked up from 54 to 58 people, Cuomo also noted that's still relatively low compared to what they once were.

Western New York and Buffalo entered Phase 2 on Tuesday, and New York City is scheduled to begin Phase 1 on June 8.
