BALLSTON SPA - The Class of 2020 is celebrating their accomplishments in a unique way.

The Ballston Spa School District will be holding a senior send-off parade through the village of Ballston Spa Thursday night. The send-off parade will begin at 4 p.m. at the high school.

Prior to the ceremony, students took a trip back in time.

When teacher Margaret Moorone retired from Milton Terrace South Elementary School in 2009, she buried a time capsule with the students in the class.

They're now graduating and opened up the time capsule with their former teacher.

They opened the time capsule in front of the school district office.

The former Milton Terrace Elementary was replaced with the new Gordon Creek Elementary School and the time capsule was retrieved during the construction project.

The Ballston Spa High School is planning a graduation ceremony for August 4, 2020 at the Times Union Center. The district is waiting on final approval.
