Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order on Friday, mandating that 100% of non-essential workers stay home. Essential services include “shipping, media, warehousing, grocery and food production, pharmacies, healthcare providers, utilities, banks and related financial institutions, and other industries critical to the supply chain,” Cuomo said.
The governor also banning gatherings statewide. Nonessential gatherings of individuals of any size or for any reason are cancelled or postponed.
Governor Cuomo says New York State is on PAUSE. It stands for “Policies Assure Uniform Safety for Everyone.”
As of Friday, there are 7,102 confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York State.
Governor Cuomo is also issuing a moratorium on any residential or commercial evictions for 90 days.
