President Trump, Governor Cuomo, and other health officials are asking Americans to practice social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The practice makes significant changes to businesses and everyday lives. Why is the practice necessary?
NewsChannel 13’s Asa Stackel is speaking with Dr. David Holtgrave, Dean of the School of Public Health at UAlbany. Dr. Holtgrave has been working on stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS for almost 30 years.
Dr. Holtgrave says there are two main reasons for social distancing. First, to allow hospitals to keep up with the number of cases. Second, to allow more time to create a vaccine or treatment.
